Keto Diet Recipes
Ketogenic Diet Recipes – Maybe I’ll add a lot more of them.
I belong to a few groups on Facebook people discuss the Ketogenic Diet. There are great people there, but there is also a lot of misinformation and upselling going on.
When you first start the keto diet, you may be thinking “OMG what am I going to eat? What do I need to buy at the grocery store? How do I need to cook?”. Next thing you know, you are relying only on recipes you find online, or you are looking every single ingredient up on some online tool to find out if it has carbs. I say relax.
Let me give you my Keto Diet Recipe Rule of Thumb. Ready? No flour, no sugar, no taters, no rice, no beans. Limit onions and carrots – if a veggie is sweet, it is because it has sugar in it! Dark and leafy vegetables are good.
So, knowing that stuff, you can throw together meals. Roasted chicken thighs with peppers and a spinach salad. Broiled garlic salmon with a side salad. Beanless chicken chili. Chicken stir fry (easy on the soy! sugar!). Etc. No need to consult the lab manual and do calculus. Be comfortable making the food!
My theory is – if the diet is making you anxious and is difficult, you won’t do it. That’s much worse than not being 100% accurate about every detail of every macro you consume. Some people like the comfort and control of weighing and measuring all their food…I don’t.
So, there you go. When I have more detailed recipes ready to share, I’ll share them right away! We’ve had some cool new stuff to try since the InstantPot showed up.
